Eight Year-Old Daughter Of Gushegu DCE Dies In Fire Outbreak

An eight-year-old daughter of the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gushegu in the Northern Region, Mr Alhassan Fuseini died in a fire outbreak on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at about 11pm.

His eight-year-old daughter died in the blaze while the sad incident which saw several property worth thousands of cedis razed by the fire outbreak, occurred at the residence of Mr Fuseini.

An eye witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity to Graphic Online, said the little girl could not escape the inferno when the incident happened, with the DCE’s first wife identified only as Madam Ayi and three other children managing to ran for their dear lives.

The eye witness, continued that although some residents in the neighbourhood tried to put out the fire, all the items in the room were reduced to ashes before the arrival of personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

However, it took personnel from the GNFS to confirm the incident to Graphic Online, as all attempts to speak to the DCE proved futile.

The police have started investigations to establish the cause of the fire.
