Shop owners at Roman Hill in the central business district of Kumasi are counting their losses following a disastrous fire outbreak which ravaged several shops in the early hours of the new year.
Meanwhile eyewitnesses who also double up as traders have revealed that all the affected shops contained electrical gadgets like fridges and microwaves. The cause of the outbreak still remains unknown as authorities say it could have been caused by an electrical fault.
So far, there has not been any casualties as personnel from the fire service reveal investigations are pending to find the reason(s) for the outbreak. The fire outbreak remains the first ever fire disaster in the country since the beginning of the year, 2016.
