The respite that the EC enjoyed over the period that the five member panel who deliberated on whether the electoral body should conduct a new voters’ register following the demands of the NPP and other activists, seem to be over with LMVCA lawyers expected to file a motion in court to join the suit for a compilation of a new voter’s register.
The pressure group had pummeled the EC with a number of protests where they petitioned for a new register. They look likely to have been incensed by the decision of the EC to reject the calls for a new voters’ register as prescribed by the panel.
This time, the LMVCA intends to let the Supreme Court compel the EC to compile a new register for the November elections.
In a chat with the, Starr News, the convener of the alliance, David Asante hinted Starr News that the EC should be prepared for more protests if it does not rescind its decision.
