The 2016 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention, Dr. Edward Mahama has attributed the cause of Ghana’s problems to corruption.
According to him, corruption is the root cause of all the problems that the country faces. He further noted that the current power crisis the country faces is as a result of corruption in government.
His assertion adds him to a tall list of Ghanaians who are of the same opinions.
Ghanaians have battled severe power cuts over the last three years with the nation’s power distributors sometimes shedding as much 650 megawatts during peak times.
The Power Minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor resigned last month after failing to fulfil his promise of ending the power crisis by the end of December 2015.
Dr. Mahama who is making a fifth attempt at the presidency after he beat Hassan Ayariga to get the nod to lead the party told Morning Starr host Nii Arday Clegg Monday that he would put in place structures to ensure that Ghana does not experience such situations again, should be emerge president in the 2016 elections.
Dr. Mahama added that both the NDC and the NPP have failed and called on Ghanaians to ensure that the PNC wins the November elections.
