In March 2015, Ronaldo hinted he was eyeing a move to the MLS in 2018 on a free transfer, when his contract at Real Madrid runs out. He was by then said to be eyeing a move to Miami, Los Angeles or New York.

If Miami lands him via the efforts of Beckham, he would instantly shore up the new franchise to prominence where he would be the biggest earner. Though Ronaldo would be 33 by then, he will still have some strength in him to make up the huge investments in him.

At 30, the Real Madrid superstar has scored 14 goals and added five assists in 18 La Liga games, while also notching a whopping 11 goals and three assists in six Champions League matches this season.

The Portugal captain has some investment in line for the States where he had indicated to friends that he might end his career, and for now, Miami looks the likelier destination.
