Civil Servants Not On Mechanized Payroll To Lose Salaries By March 2016

The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) is warning all civil servants to get themselves regularized on government's mechanized payroll system or suffer losing their salaries after March 2016.

Meanwhile, the CAGD in October 2015 suspended salaries of 3,794 government workers have been suspended by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) due to the absence of social security numbers on their respective payrolls totaling the breakdown of all affected government workers to 3,794 affected employees, involving 2,647 from the Ghana Education Service and 1,147 others.

The update of social security information of employees on the payroll system was part of the Public Financial Management Reform programme, which aimed at cleaning the mechanised payroll database.
