Military Recruits Sue Ghana Army Over Maltreatment

About 500 recruits who got dismissed by the Ghana Armed Forces for indiscipline say they are set to file a suit against the army over what they have termed as strenuous training at the army - a move which will see the dismissed recruits pray the courts for an order of reinstatement.

Human rights lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu has argued that the suit was much expected considering the negligence of the army to heed to the complaints of the recruits.

Meanwhile authorities of the Army have described the move by the recruits as “far reaching and inimical to the security of the state.”
