The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fired back at suspended member Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey describing him as an attention seeker.
According to Deputy General Secretary of NPP, Nana Obiri Boahen the former Volta River Authority (VRA) boss is a “mysterious and greedy politician”.
Obiri Boahen also asked Ghanaians to ignore Dr. Wereko-Brobbey. “Dr. Wereko-Brobby was only making ugly noise; just to seek attention from the public,” he told Accra based Joy FM.
Dr Charles Wereko-Brobbey lambasted the NPP for its persistent and unnecessary call for a new voters’ register for the 2016 elections.
"I want to hear NPP talk about the fuel price hikes, the wrongs going on in Ghana. This is the time to offer alternatives, not keep complaining and wasting our time with threats of going to court. There’ll be no new register. End of the story,” he said on Asempa FM Monday.
These comments triggered the deputy general secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen to respond in equal measure.
He noted that the NPP is on cause fighting a good cause.
The NPP has been ruthless in the last couple of months. The party has so far suspended three top national executives of the party for what it describes as misconduct.
