The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare has led a delegation of creative arts practitioners, mostly musicians to visit highlife legend Amakye Dede, on his admission bed at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Amakye Dede was transferred from the Hawa Memorial Hospital in Osiem where he was taken to after the accident to the Cardiothoracic Unit to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment after a fatal accident last weekend at the Bunso junction in the Eastern region.
Speaking to a section of the press after visiting the “Iron Boy” hit maker, Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare said, it was disturbing to hear the news of Amakye’s accident, especially during the festive season.
She noted, hence her decision to visit him with his colleagues in the industry. She disclosed that the musician is recuperating and wished him a speedy recovery.
On his part, the legend thanked the Minister for calling on him by his sick bed. He said the visit was timely and will boost his recovery process, adding that her visit was also an indication of her motherly instincts and her compassion for humanity.
Nana Ampadu on behalf of the musicians thanked the Minister for showing concern to their colleague. The minister’s delegation also included members of MUSIGA, GHAMRO, Rex Omar, Daddy Bosco, Nana Ampadu, Rex Omar, Obuor, Kojo Antwi, & Adofo.
In a related development, Daniel Amakye Dede is reported to have wept uncontrollably when he was informed of the death of his manager, Isaac Yeboah.
According to adomonline the doctors after considering his medical condition decided to break the unfortunate news to him today of the passing away of his manager.
“Amakye Dede wept uncontrollably when he was informed of the death of his manager as he was someone who was very close to him…,” Adom News’ Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei told Adomonline.com.
The News Anchor further reported that the body of the late Isaac Yeboah has arrived in Accra and would later be transferred to Takoradi.
