Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s recently constructed Adakojachie training pitch was gutted by fire on Wednesday morning.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), aided by other people who all put in efforts to put out the fire could not immediately identify the source of the fire.
The troubled club, whose supporters are demanding the resignation of the Opoku Nti led administration, over what they called, a ‘calculated deception’ of its supporters in connivance with, Serbian club, FC Jargodina to present a fake team on Sunday in a friendly game at the Baba Yara stadium, have found themselves embroiled in a more ‘fire’ situation.
Kotoko walloped the alleged league 3 side 5-0. In a rather bizarre situation, the Jargodina side brought only 11 players to Ghana and added some two players from a Kotoko youth team.
Meanwhile, the playing body is currently in Takoradi where they are preparing for the Ghalca G6 tournament which takes off on Thursday.
