Ghana’s male football team, the Black Stars are 33 position in the latest edition of the FIFA/Coca Cola world rankings which was released on Thursday, 7 January.
Ghana accumulated 776 points to end the year which saw the team qualify for the group stages of the qualifications for the Russia 2018 World cup. They started the year with a 25 position and ended at the 33 in the November standing.
Ghana still maintained her third spot in Africa behind Ivory Coast (19th) and Algeria (28th) who are first and second respectively. The Black Stars are looking forward to having a wonderful year where the qualifications for both the AFCON and the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Iran, Peru, Congo, Senegal, Guinea and Trinidad and Tobago placed in good standings ahead of notable African giants Cameroun, Egypt, and Nigeria who are nowhere to be found in the best 50 football nations in the world. They lag behind at 57, 58 and 66 respectively.
Meanwhile, Belgium is still leading the ranking at 1, followed by Argentina and Spain at 2 and 3 respectively. World cup winners Germany are placed 4.
