We Will Not Bow To Pressure Over New Voters' Register, EC Boss Replies Critics

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has maintained it would not bow to pressure from various political parties to go in for a new voter's register.

Responding to various political arguments against the decision by the EC, chairperson of the EC, Charlotte Osei explains that her outfit will strictly stick to the constitution and not the whims of other political parties.

Meanwhile the electoral commission has justified its resolve to maintain the voters’ register ahead of the year’s elections arguing that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) failed to give out ample evidence to support allegations of foreign nationals on the current register adding that the electoral laws also grants eligibility to all voters bearing dual citizenship - a development which has attracted the disapproval of the main opposition New Patriotic Party as they threaten to seek a court redress over the declaration.
