The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) president, Kwabena Yeboah, wants the Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi to investigate the possible connivance of football administrators to engage in match-fixing in the Premier League.
During the latter stages of the just-ended league season, BA United allegedly threw away matches of convenience when it became obvious the point gap between them and the other clubs was unassailable. Another rumour rife in town was that some top officials of the FA influenced the relegation of Heart of Lions and Great Olympics.
The league which should have started in October has still not taken off, and stands the risk of being embroiled in long litigation with clubs like, Hearts of Oak, Tema Youth and Techiman City FC. Each of these clubs are on the neck of the FA for decisions taken which to them were not handled according to the stipulated laws governing the game.
The veteran commentator who spoke to Starrfm believes the Premier League is a rotten competition with results of matches being predetermined.
