Unemployed Teachers, Nurses Arrested For Demonstrating At Flagstaff House

Police have arrested sixteen unemployed teachers together with fourteen nurses for demonstrating close to the Flagstaff House on Monday morning as they protested in demand for their immediate employment into their respective official duties as official teachers and nurses.

The aggrieved teachers and nurses say they have not been posted since 2014 after graduation from their various colleges of education. The arrest also saw the police pounce on twenty other protesters upon arrival at the Flagstaff House.

Meanwhile earlier reports do indicate that the aggrieved teachers were rather expected to picketed at the Ministry of Education to press home their demands rather than the Flagstaff House.

They are likely to be charged for unlawful assembly as authorities investigate into the legality of their demonstration.
