Tuobodom Senior High School in the Techiman North District in the Brong Ahafo Region, has also been affected by a recent fire outbreak.
The fire which destroyed part of the administrative block, the library, stores, the typing pool and the offices of the headmaster and the assistant headmaster is estimated to run into thousands of cedis.
The Daily Graphic reports that Philip Ansah, the Techiman Municipal Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service hinted that cause of the fire was still under investigation. He said the cost of the damage could be determined by the school authorities.
The cause of fire is not yet known but it is envisaged the fire will bring education and schooling activities to a halt, as the library and typing pool are among the places razed down by the fire.
Tuobodom Senior High School in the Techiman North District in the Brong Ahafo Region, came to the lime light about a decade ago after the musical duo Nkasei sang the song about a town in Brong Ahafo called Tuobodom. The song which was titled “Yefri Tuobodom” portrayed the townshipas backward; causing the queen mother of the town to react to the song and the angry youth calling on the musicians to retract the lyrics in the song. The angry elders in the town also appealed to get the song banned, saying it was making all their lives a misery.
The school in the township then became popular as many travelled from far and near to see the Tuobodom Township.
