Brong Ahafo region clubs in the Ghana premier league have threatened to withdraw from the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) according to a Ghanasportonline.com report.
The latest development comes at the back of a recent comment made by GHALCA chairman Alhaji Raji who allegedly tagged Aduana Stars as a “Village” Club.
Raji was responding to allegations that he influenced referee Issaka Afful into throwing the GHALCA G-6 final on Sunday in favour of Asante Kotoko after he allegedly revealed his desire to have the trophy go to Kumasi instead of Dormaa.
The GHALCA boss has since been lambasted by several football enthusiasts including the PRO of Aduana Stars who has already revealed his outfit’s decision to withdraw from the Association.
Ghanasportsonline.com have reported that clubs in the Brong Ahafo region have jumped to the defense of their colleagues by withdrawing as members of the Association.
They further alleged that an Accra based lawyer who is a native of the region, Ntow Fianko is preparing to serve GHALCA with a notice on the clubs latest decision.
The clubs however, have indicated they might rescind their decision should Alhaji Raji show remorse and apologize.
Aduana Stars lost the inaugural GHALCA G6 competition to Asante Kotoko after being pipped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Porcupine Warriors in the finals played at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi on Sunday.
