NHIA Providers Threaten To Suspend Services To All Patients

Health Insurance Service Providers Association of Ghana (HISPAG) has warned of its resolve to immediately suspend services to all patients in the country should the National Health Insurance Authority ( NHIA) default in the payment claims owed in arrears.

Justifying the move by the group to take such action, Executive Director of HISPAG, Frank Torblu argues that the move follows the suspension of payment claims upon investigations by the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) into NHIA activities which sees the NHIA indebted at a tune of  600 million Ghana cedis.

Meanwhile the BNI has begun investigating cases of fraudulent payment to some health institutions and recently froze the accounts of former CEO Sylvester Mensah.
