NDC's Fritz Baffour Slams Mahama Over Guantanamo Bay Detainees

Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Fritz Baffour has criticized his party, the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the way(s) by which the sheltering of the two detainees from Guantanamo Bay was handled without the consent of Ghanaians.

Expressing his thoughts on Facebook, Fritz Baffour who also doubles as chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defense and Interior described the executive decision by government as an unbelievable gesture to many Ghanaians.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has insisted that the sheltering of two detainees from the Guantanamo Bay cell posed no threat whatsoever to the security of the nation and that Ghanaians would have to be more troubled over the spate of road accidents than the mere sheltering of these detainees.

Civil society groups including, the Catholic Bishops Conference and the Christian Council of Ghana have condemned the decision by the Mahama-led administration to open Ghana’s doors to them thus ordering government to send them back to the US.
