IMF Warns Ghana Of Tougher Times Ahead

The International Monetary Fund, (IMF) has warned that even though Ghana is showing economic improvement after the third review of the bailout programme, there still remained possibility of a dark economic outlook in the following years.

Making known the warning of an imminent economic downturn, the IMF fears Ghana is bound to suffer major setbacks considering the increased levels of borrowing which they argue had the potential of collapsing the economy.

Meanwhile government has been urged to embark on major reforms if only it yearned for an economic comeback. The IMF explains such a fiscal reform would have to be aimed at consolidating the risks accrued and also hugely reducing potential fiscal risks.

Minority in Parliament is demanding the immediate freeze on disbursements of funds by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Ghana as they describe the ongoing deal as unconstitutional.
