An Accra High Court on Friday rejected the suit by some National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the Klottey Korle constituency against the party’s parliamentary candidate.
The court, presided over by Justice Patience Mills Tetteh noted that the plaintiff failed to convince the court that their rights had or will be violated in any way.
Four NDC members sued the Klottey Korley Parliamentary candidate Dr. Zenator Rawlings.
They asked the court to stop Dr. Zenator Rawlings from holding herself out as Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency because she did not qualify to contest in the primaries because she is not a registered voter.
But Justice Mills Tetteh in her ruling indicated the action of the plaintiffs were an abuse of the court hence her decision.
The plaintiff in their suit were also seeking the following from the court;
Asking the court to declare as null and void the results of the parliamentary elections which made Dr Zanetor Rawlings a candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency.
Praying the court for an order of injunction restraining Dr Rawlings from holding herself out as parliamentary candidate until the case is determined.
They also prayed the court to re-run the Klottey Korley parliamentary elections.
