Atuabo Gas Plant To Shut Down For 15 Days

The Volta River Authority has announced the shutdown of the Atuabo Gas plant for routine maintenance works to go on over a 15 day period -  a development which is feared to interrupt power supply in the country.

The shut down will see over 600 Megawatts of electricity lost hence its probability of causing erratic power cuts across the country. Chairman of the Load Management Committee, William Amuma, in light of the shutdown has thus assured that adequate stock of crude to fueling all plants would be engaged.

The shut down  comes as the very first in the beginning of the year following assurance of an end to the three-year load shedding exercise which is feared to have crippled several businesses in the country.
