Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been named the German player of the year for the fourth time.

In the last five years, the Arsenal star player, Ozil had lost the crown only in 2014 to Toni Kroos.

He was in outstanding form for his club during 2015 and has now been awarded for his performances for the national team as well. Ozil, who was part of the Germany World cup winning squad, played a big part in ensuring the world champions reached Euro 2016.

His outstanding form saw him play in all but one international for his country.

This year more than 51,000 German fans voted for the Arsenal star, giving him 45.9 % of the vote which saw him place ahead of Thomas Muller (15.9%) and Jonas Hector (13.6%).

Ozil already has 16 assists and 87  created chances in the current EPL. According to the statistics, this is the best totals of any player in Europe’s top-five leagues this season.

He is touted to be one of the star players that has made the league interesting and his manager at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger likened him to a musical instrument.
