Ghana’s finalists at last year’s X factor have announced that they are signed on Simon Cowell’s music label, Syco Music label.
The two who came second at the finals have described the opportunity as a dream come true for them.
In a statement by the group, it noted “We are so happy to be joining the Syco Music family and releasing our record with them. It is, literally, a dream come true for us to now do what we love for a living. We promise to work hard and show you all what Reggie and Bollie are made of. Here’s to a fun 2016.”
Before Reggie Zippy and Bollie made it to the world stage as finalists on the reality music show, X Factor UK, they were champions in their own rights, boasting off quite a number of hits songs on the Ghanaian music industry.
Early 2015, the two decided to work together and change their musical fortunes after a long break. They auditioned at Britain’s Got Talent but didn’t make the mark.
They decided to give music another shot, this time on X Factor UK. They impressed the judges and made it as one of 12 contestants, ultimately making it to the finale. Simon Cowell after one of their performances tweeted: I LOVE Reggie and Bollie
They mashed up What makes you Beautiful with Cheerleader. Sounds crazy but it was fantastic.
Initially known as Menn on Point when they auditioned for the show, they changed their name to Reggie N Bollie. They are made up of Reggie Zippy, who is famous for the song ‘Virgin’ and Bollie of ‘you may kiss the bride’ fame, a song off a compilation project by veteran music producer Hammer.
