Police Officer Kills Two In Accra For Resisting Arrest

A Joy FM report claims that two people, including someone the police say is a murder suspect was shot dead at Nmai-Dzorn in Accra on Thursday.

ASP Afia Tengey, who is the Greater Accra regional police command PRO said the two, Adisha Bagaje and Joseph Adjei were shot after they resisted attempts to have them arrested at about 1:30am on Thursday.

At a news conference on Thursday morning, ASP Afia Tenge, claimed that the two, Bagaje and Adjei, attacked the police team that went to arrest them with “machetes, knives and other offensive weapons”.

A police officer, Sergeant Adorye on realizing that their lives were in danger, opened fire on the two men, injuring them in the process.

The two who were quickly sent to the hospital, later died at the hospital.
