The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2015/2016 Football Season will kick-off on Saturday February 20, 2016.
This announcement will put to rest speculations as to the commencement of the league culminating from rumours that Tema Youth, King Faisal, Hearts of Oak and Techiman FC were all threatening to either report the FA to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), or take the football governing body on in court for cases that they felt were treated shabbily.
The FA vice president, George Afriyie had hinted that the start of the country’s top-flight league will be made known by Friday after three months of delay following the governing body being entangled with legal issues.
The FA announced on their website that both the Premier and Division One Leagues will commence on the same date.
They issued a directive that all Premier League clubs were to furnish the Association with their nominees on to the Premier League Board by close of work on Friday January 22, 2016.
