Leicester City Unveils Ghanaian, Daniel Amartey

English Premier League side, Leicester City have unveiled Ghana Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey who they signed from Danish side FC Copenhagen on a four-year deal believed to be around £6m.

Amartey born in Accra, has been a target for the Foxes for some time now. The hardworking defender who   can also play in midfield was rumoured to have been on the monitoring radar by another EPL side, Liverpool.

Now 21, he went to Europe as a teenager from the youth side of Ghana’s Premier League side, Inter Allies who were then in the lower tier. He joined FC Copenhagen who has played 63 times for, in 2014 from Swedish side Djugarden.

He contributed to the success of the Danish team who very much were aware of his huge talent and club manager, Stale Solbakken could not hide their pride in the Ghanaian. "Daniel has been a role model and a key player for us," he said.

"It is a dream come true for him to play in the Premier League for a club who have targeted him for a long period."

The top of league side Leicester in their bid to reinforce their team and lay claim to the EPL title, has already signed winger, Demarai Gray from English Divison one side Birmingham for £3.7m in the January transfer window.
