Ghanaians to pay more for healthcare at Korle-Bu Hospital

Following decisions by government to cut financial assistance to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Chief Executive of the hospital, Gilbert Buckle, has revealed the hospital would soon demand full cost of healthcare from Ghanaians if government goes on with its decision.

Gilbert Buckle in an interaction with Joy News in Accra revealed that the news by government is bound to increase the burden on patients - a development which is likely to complicate the delivery of health service to Ghanaians.

Meanwhile Health Minister, Alex Segbefia, has revealed that the cost of electricity and water at all health facilities would be paid. He indicated the ministry is drawing up an exercise to use of part the budgetary allocation for goods and services to pay for electricity used - a development which would not affect health care delivery.
