Nikki Samonas reveals she had a difficult childhood

Actress Nikki Samonas has debunked the perception that all half-castes are born with silver spoons in their mouths.

The actress born, Nikoletta Samonas, added that she had to work to feed and had to  build a future for herself.

Speaking with MzGee on 'Day Break Hitz' show on Hitz FM, the actress explained that she had to hustle after the death of her father. He further explained that her circumstances would have been different if her father was alive.

Nikki Samonas, who is of Greek and Ghanaian parentage in the interview revealed that she once survived on selling ‘iced water’ on the streets.


“I once sold iced water, yeah I did, I sold water in Tema. My father was one of the richest men in Greece so I believe if he were to be alive things would have been easier,” she explained.

According to Nikki, her “dad was a captain with three vessels. He was working on the west coast during the Monrovia war. He was poisoned.

Nikki disclosed in her interview that  due to  the absence of her father while growing up, she always wants to have someone who will be there for  her all the time and wants the person to  show her all the care.

Born Nikoletta Samonas, her first appearance in movies was in a minor role in Abdul Salam’s Beyonce and  she has since featured in many others, Pretty Queen, War of Roses, Desperate Measures, Deadly Obsession, Wrong Line , Final Rain and Red Label.
