Government has revealed that the report on the fire which destroyed Central Medical Stores (CMS) in Tema has shown that there was arson committed.
About a year ago the Central Medical Store was razed down by fire and a committee report says the fire was set up deliberately.
Also, according to a Graphic Online story 10 officials of the stores have been indicted in the the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
Meanwhile government will on Friday release an official position on the investigations into the fire. Attorney General & Minister for Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong, will issue the government statement following the approval of President John Dramani Mahama.
It is estimated that over two hundred million cedis worth of drugs and equipment were destroyed.
The Central Medical Store is where the country’s medical equipment and drugs are stored for onward distribution across the regions.
