Board of Ghana Gas Company disbanded

The executive board of the Ghana Gas Company is expected to shut down effective February 4 2016 following an official decision taken by executive members in meeting to retire all non-executive directors of the company.

A statement issued and signed by the company has shown that the board, on assumption of office in July 2011, commenced operations by successfully establishing the administrative and operational structures of the company from scratch, and superintended over the recruitment of key staff - thus the need for the closure since all members had completed their official tasks.

The board is documented to have implemented the Western Gas Infrastructure Project, successfully bringing up the Gas Processing Plant, associated pipelines and auxiliary equipment into operation in November 2014, despite a number of incipient challenges that the company faced during the development phase of the project. Meanwhile the dissolution of the board will see the likes of Dr Kwesi Botchwey, Dr Valerie Esther Sawyerr, Eric Nathaniel Yankah and William Patrick Tewiah no more part of the company.
