Boss of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital sued by staff

Members of the Korle Bu Senior Association have sued the head of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Gilbert Buckle over attempts to sanction leadership of the hospital's senior staff association following their protest for his resignation.

According to members of the association, the head of the hospital was repeating the operational mistakes of his predecessors - a development which has seen him, Mr Buckle, suffer a vote of no confidence. Meanwhile, in a bid to foil the disciplinary procedure initiated by the board, the staff have filed a writ at the High Court demanding that an injunction be placed on the proceedings as they seek to “restrain the defendants, their agents etc from convening a board meeting of any kind and decide on recommendations or matters submitted to them by the Disciplinary Committee in relation to alleged misconduct perpetrated by the plaintiffs.”

The legal suit follows a resolution by the senior staff that leveled several allegations against the Chief Executive of the hospital, Gilbert Buckle, including alleged that financial mismanagement.
