Reggie, one half of the sensational Ghanaian duo who made history at the 2015 Xfactor competition in the UK is the latest victim of Marie Asemota, a popular British catfish- someone who pretends to be someone they're not using Facebook or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances.
Marie Asemota who claims to be a fan of Reggie and his Xfactor success says she was abused by Reggie, describing the musician as fake. According a Daily Star report, Reggie who is married with kids initially tried to get Marie to a hotel in London on December 16 for a ‘night of passion’. She was unable to make the date but according to a leaked phone conversation between Marie and Reggie, the music star tried his luck again, this time at the swanky Thistle Euston Hotel.
When Marie again was unable to make the date, the audio showed a persistent Reggie suggesting other alternatives. The TV star even sent Marie a link to the hotel to book a room online. However, due to the venue being miles away from her home, Marie declined causing Reggie to “go cold” on her.
Marie told the Daily Star: “He said I was his girl and how beautiful I was. I really did like him and it was all very genuine. He made me feel special and it wasn’t just some sexual fling. He was so nice, but then he turned into a complete a*s*h**e. He will say it was just texting but he would have met me and had sex if I had gone to all the hotels he tried to get me in.”
In November 2015, 36-year-old Marie Asemota made the headlines when she leaked similar kinky phone chat with football bad boy, Mario Balotelli. In the minute-and-a-half clip the striker was heard asking Marie whether she likes "to play with herself" before going to sleep. The footballer begged to know what Marie was "good at in bed" for. In October that same year, Marie Asemota leaked a kinky phone chat she had with the boyfriend of British TV star, Amy Childs.

It is not clear whether Marie Asemota is paid by the Daily Star to 'catfish' the stars, but she has been successful on several occasions to have these men fall in her trap, and their chats also gets published first on Daily Star.
