Presidential Staffer, Stan Dogbe has clarified the true birthdate of President Mahama, Sharaf Mahama revealing that Sharat is 18 years - contrary to earlier claims that he is 22 years old.
Sharaf, a former student of St. John’s College in Portsmouth, has been linked with a move to Belgian club KV Mechelen alongside other three Ghanaian players; Opoku Ampomah, Hope Doagbodzi and Ruben Acquah - a development which mistakenly saw his Facebook Page updated with the birthdate of September 21, 1995 (22 years) when in real terms he is 18 years.
"Reading stories about Sharaf Mahama & claims that he’s 22 years. He’s 18 and not 22," Dogbe posted on his official Twitter page.
Sharaf Mahama made his decision to pursue a career in football after playing in Stephen Appiah's testimonial in June last year. He played as a second half substitute in the game which was also played by Africa's top stars including Emmanuel Adebayor, Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew but did not have enough playing time to demonstrate his prowess.
