Sir Sam Jonah, a Ghanaian businessman, the Managing Director of Kinapharma and Healthilife, Mr Kofi Nsiah-Poku, and Dr Kwabena Adjei, Founder and Chairman of Kasapreko Limited took away three awards at this year's West African edition of the Ernst and Young (EY) World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards held on Friday, February 5 2016, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The prestigious award seeks at rewarding the world’s most successful and innovative entrepreneurs by identifying and recognising their outstanding successes through the dynamics of accomplished businesses.
A Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Sir Sam Jonah, a successful Ghanaian businessman whose businesses cuts across the continent and beyond.
The second Ghana award went to Mr Nsiah-Poku who is also the founder of Kinapharma and Healthilife. He saw off competition from four other Nigerians in the Emerging Entrepreneur award.
In the Master Entrepreneur category, Dr Kwabena Adjei, Founder and Chairman of Kasapreko Limited, took away the ultimate which saw another Ghanaian, Mr Edmund Poku, Managing Director of Niche Cocoa Processing and two other Nigerian finalists.
The World Entrepreneur of the Year Award programme was created by Ernst and Young (EY) to recognize the achievements of entrepreneurs in more than 60 countries globally.
Each year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year country winners or representative come together in Monaco to be inducted into the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame, where they also vie for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year title.
