Apegusu, a farming community in the Asuogyaman district of the Eastern region woke up to the horrific news on Sunday that a 40-year-old farmer who had gone farming had been found dead on her farm.
The woman who is popularly known as Apataa was found naked with cutlass wounds on the hands and neck by a group of volunteers who had been mobilized by a chief of the community to search for her.
A resident who was at the crime scene, told Starr News that the woman went to her farm alone on Saturday and did not return. This development made her family raise an alarm after which the Gyaasehene gave an order for her search.
The victim, whose lifeless body was found in a pool of blood on her farm with her cutlass and other farm tools beside her, is suspected strongly to have been raped by an unknown assailant who later inflicted cutlass wounds on her.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased, Apataa have been conveyed to the morgue by the Asuogyaman Police.
