Police question five in connection to MP's murder

- Police arrest five people in connection with JB Danquah’s murder

- According to Accra regional Police RPO, ASP Afia Tenge the police are investigating the incident and calling on individuals with any information to contact the police.

- Abuakwa North MP,Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu was stabbed to death after some assailants went straight to his bedroom Tuesday dawn.

The police have revealed that five persons have so far been picked up to assist in investigations with regards to the murder of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Abuakwa North in the Eastern region early Tuesday morning.

Briefing the media, Accra regional Police RPO, ASP Afia Tenge said two women, and three men, have been arrested in connection with the murder of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.

Five persons comprising two female and three males have been arrested for interrogation. The police hereby wish to solicit the support of the general public to get to the bottom of this incident as soon as possible. We need them to volunteer credible information to the police to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the NPP lawmaker. Individuals with information can contact the police regional high command on the numbers 0242337477 and 0208166148. Any developments regarding this unfortunate incident that will not compromise police investigations will be shared with the public through the media,” she said.

According to her the police have taken charge of the MP’s residence to allow full investigations. “As I speak to you now, a high team of police investigators comprising of crime scene analysts and homicide experts are presently at the scene for crime scene reconstruction and gathering of forensic evidence. For effective and efficient investigations, the residence of the deceased MP has been cordoned off.”

Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu was stabbed to death after some assailants went straight to the MP's bedroom.

He left behind a wife and two children. He was 50 years old.
