Police shoot two innocent Midwifery teachers at Mampong

- Police have mistakenly shot dead two teachers at the Mampong Midwifery school.

- According to the police, they mistook the deceased for robbers.

- The police were in the school to attend to a distress call of armed robbery attack in the school.

Two teachers of the Mampong Midwifery Training College in the Ashanti region have been shot dead by the police.

The two, according to reports were mistaken for armed robbers.

The police arrived on campus after a distress call by a female teacher that armed robbers had stormed the campus.

The Mampong Police commander Supt. Bismark Agyapong confirmed the news to Starr News. He noted that investigations have commenced into the incident.

"Police had been called to a robbery scene that there were some armed robbers attacking a house so we rushed there after a tenant called.

"When we got there to confront the robbers, suddenly two people jumped on a motorbike and they suspected it was the robbers so they mistakenly shot at them," he explained.
