GH₵10,000 bounty placed on MP’s killers

- The police is asking anyone or group of people with information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator(s) of the tragic murder of MP for Abuakwa North to come out with it

- They asked operators and workers of health facilities, to report persons with fresh knife wounds and report them to the Police

- A team of senior police officers from the CID Headquarters, under the direct supervision of the Director-General/CID has commenced investigations

- The police are calling on anyone with relevant information on the incident to report personally to the CID Headquarters or any Regional or District Police Headquarters, or call Police emergency number – MTN and Vodafone short-code 18555 or 191 on all Networks

The Police Administration is offering GH₵10,000 to anyone or group of people with information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator(s) of the tragic murder of MP for Abuakwa North, J. B. Danquah-Adu early Tuesday dawn.

The police also asked the public, particularly operators and workers of health facilities, to be on the lookout for persons who may report with fresh knife wounds and report them to the Police.

The police by the statement on Wednesday extended their condolences to the family of the late MP and assured them of its commitment to get to the bottom of the murder.

A high level team of investigators including officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are said to have already begun work to unravel the cowardice act, and called for public cooperation.

“The team which is led by a Senior Police Officer from the CID Headquarters, under the direct supervision of the Director-General/CID has commenced its work in earnest, and the public is hereby entreated to assist the Police with relevant information that could lead to the solution of the crime,” the police said.

The police encouraged the public go about their socio-economic activities without any let or hindrance but added, “the police are calling on anyone with any relevant information on the incident to report personally to the CID Headquarters, Accra or any Regional or District Police Headquarters, or call Police emergency number – MTN and Vodafone short-code 18555 or 191 on all Networks,” the statement read.

JB Danquah-Adu was murdered at his East Legon residence on Tuesday dawn, an incident that has thrown the entire nation into a state of shock.

Meanwhile, six persons are said to have been arrested so far to assist with preliminary investigations.
