A 6pm to 6am curfew has been declared in old Tafo in Kumasi due to a bloody clash between Muslim youth and traditional authorities over a piece of land Wednesday afternoon.
Confirming the news, Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Kojo Bonsu and the regional Police commander DCOP Kofi Boakye announced the decision following clashes between the two factions.
A combined team of military and police personnel have taken over the town.
At least one person is feared dead and several others injured as a result of the mayhem. According to reports
Wielding machetes, clubs, knives and hammers, the irate Muslim youth chased and indiscriminately assaulted anyone they could find on the streets.
They vandalism and destroyed cars, buildings they came across.
