The National Chief Imam, Sheik Usman Nuhu Sharubutu arrived in Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region to engage the Muslim who are rioting with the traditional authorities in the area.
Sheik Sharubutu has been meeting with both Muslim youth and the traditional leaders of the area to try and resolve the rift between the two parties.
His visit is also expected to calm tension among the Muslim youth.
On Wednesday afternoon the Muslim youth and the non-Muslims in the Old Tafo area clashed over who a piece of cemetery land belonged to.
In the process one person has died, dozens injured, with properties running into several thousands of cedis lost to the conflict.
Also the National Peace Council has also been meeting with the Muslim Youth and their elders as well as non-Muslims in the area.
A dusk to dawn curfew has been imposed in the Old Tafo area to maintain law and order and control the mayhem.
According to the police about 48 persons have been arrested in connection with the incident and are undergoing screening to identify the masterminds of the clashes.
