Passengers, mainly mourners, on board a Mitsubishi pick-up with registration number ER 3595-11 have been involved in an accident.
According to Police, the accident which claimed one life also saw 12 others injured are receiving treatment. The accident which occurred at Kyekyewere along the Eastern region stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway occurred on Saturday around 11.30am.
The remains of Emmanuel Azona, 30, who died on the spot has been conveyed to the Suhum Government Hospital morgue. According to health officials, three of the victims are in critical condition.

The passengers were heading to Adawso from Teacher Mante. Speaking to Starr News, the police boss Superintendent Yaaya Mushiraru said when they reached a section of the road, the driver attempted to overtake a vehicle, but met an oncoming vehicle so in attempt to avoid a head on collision, veered off the road and somersaulted.
He added that the police has since launched a search for the driver, who is currently on the run.
