- Actor George Clooney and wife have held a private meeting with the German Chancellor
- The meeting was to try to see possible way of curbing the migrants to Germany
George and his wife are in Germany to also promote his new film he starred in
Actor George Clooney and his wife Amal, a human rights lawyer, have met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss the war in Syria and migration crisis in Europe.
The meeting which was held privately had to do with finding solutions to what the Clooneys describe as the "global problem" of migration.The Clooneys were accompanied to the meeting by David Miliband, the former UK foreign secretary and head of the International Rescue Committee.
Mr Miliband said they discussed solutions to to what he refers to as the "global problem" also praised Mrs Merkel for "showing very strong leadership" during the crisis.

The Clooneys who are in Germany to attend the Berlinale film festival,where the actor is promoting his new film Hail, Caesar also plan to visit a Berlin refugee shelter later on Friday as part of their visit to Germany.
George Clooney had told reporters earlier on Thursday that he would meet Mrs Merkel and, separately, a group of asylum seekers, "to talk about and ask what messages and what things we can do... to help."
Germany took in around 1.1 million asylum seekers in 2015 alone, but opposition is growing within the country against Mrs Merkel's so-called "open-door" policy.
