Alleged MP 'killer' charged with murder

- The suspected ‘killer’ of the Abuakwa North MP arraigned before a court and charged with murder.

- Daniel Asiedu was remanded by the Accra magistrate court to allow continuation of investigations. The case was  adjourned to the 1st of March 2016.

- The alleged murderer entered the MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah and stabbed him to death.

Alleged MP 'killer' charged with murder

The Police have charged Daniel Asiedu, the man accused of killing Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North J.B. Danquah with murder.

The alleged suspected killer of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North J.B. Danquah has been charged with murder by the police.

According to the police prosecutor, Supt Francis Baah the prime suspect [Daniel Asiedu] has confessed he killed the late MP.

Daniel told the police, “he went there [MP’s house] to steal, but in the process the deceased woke up and held him.”

“That the deceased struggled with him so he pulled out his knife and stabbed him several times and he became weak and fell down. That he went ahead and ransacked the room, but had only the items mentioned above,” the charge sheet revealed.

The 19 year old suspect has been arraigned before an Accra magistrate court. The police prayed the court to remand the suspect while investigations continue.

He has been remanded into police custody and the case adjourned to the 1st of March 2016.

The alleged murderer broke down in tears apologizing for the act in court.

On 9th February, 2016 at about 1:00am at Shiashie, East Legon in the Greater Accra Daniel entered the bedroom of the MP and stabbed him to death.
