An Accra Magistrate court has charged a 23-year-old painter with rape after he allegedly raped a 17-year-old junior high school graduate.
Eric Addo’s plea was not taken when he was arraigned before the court presided over by Ms Arit Nsemoh.
Eric was said to have lured the victim who lived with her parents at Apenkwah on July 22, 2014 at 7:00a.m as she headed towards a friend’s house to visit her.
According to the prosecutor, Sergeant Lois Konadu, Addo spotted her around Santana railways where he accosted her and introduced himself as a mallam..
Addo then coerced the victim into believing that there was a demonic force that was destroying her which needed to be dealt with at his residence at Abelemkpe.

The culprit on reaching his room, asked his victim to produce sperms so as to enable him performs some spiritual rites for her.
The teenage girl told Addo she couldn’t do that and so he ended up forcibly having sex with her and threatened her that if she moved or shouted she would die.
The Prosecutor said the victim then reported the offence to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit of the Police after his captive allowed her to leave.
