- GFP has ranked United States, Russia and China as the top three in the top 10 of the ranking 

- Ghana is placed 103 and have countries like, Egypt, South Africa, Algeria and Nigeria named ahead

- GFP took into consideration over 50 yardstick in the database

A Global FirePower (GFP) list which compares the might of countries worldwide by taking into consideration over 50 key factors as yardstick has placed Ghana as the 103 out of the 126 countries included in the GFP database.

GFP provides a unique analytical display of data concerning today's world military powers. Over a 100 world powers are considered based on over 50 factors in an in-house formula to determine a given nation's Power Index ("PwrIndx") score.

The formulas cover 9 key areas like

MANPOWER which looks at a country’s Total Populations, Available Manpower fit for Service etc.

LAND SYSTEMS which looks at Tanks (MBT / Light), Armored Fighting Vehicles, Self-Propelled Guns, Towed Artillery Pieces and Rocket Projectors (MLRS).

AIR POWER which looks at Total Aircraft, Fighters / Interceptors, Attack Aircraft, Transport Aircraft, Trainer Aircraft among others.

NAVAL POWER the Total Strength, Aircraft Carriers,  Submarines and Patrol Craft.

RESOURCES  Oil Production, Oil Consumption and Proven Oil Reserves

LOGISTICAL Labor Force, Merchant Marine Strength and Major Ports and Terminals

FINANCIAL looks at the Annual Defense Budget, External Debt, Reserves of Foreign Exchange and Gold and Purchasing Power Parity.

The final rankings allows smaller nations to compete with more technologically-advanced ones.

The Top 10 World Powers are as follows

5. United Kingdom

7. Italy

South Korea

Brazil

9. Japan

10. Turkey

Egypt ranked 18 , Algeria 27, South Africa 32 and Nigeria at 41.

Ghana placed 103 behind Zimbabwe, CoteDivoire, Kenya and Uganda among other African countries in that order.

The database did not consider Nuclear capability, Geographical factors influence the final ranking and also ranking did not rely on total number of weapons available to any one country too.

It also did not consider current economic health for each country as well as the Current political / military leadership is NOT taken into account.
