Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jr has revealed on public radio that he smoked cannabis (weed) for 29 years - a development which saw himself and family face severe challenges.
Commenting on the recent call for the legalization of Cannabis in Ghana by former UN General Secretary, Kofi Annan on Peace FM morning show, Kokrokoo, the outspoken social commentator argued that the basis for the legalisation of cannabis can only be effected through the single exportation of the substance and not the local consumption of it.
I smoked weed for almost 29 years and it got me and my father into a lot of trouble, he narrated.
Meanwhile former UN boss, Kofi Annan argued that the legalization would curtail its abuse and governing the legalization with regulations is to caution on its excessive use. He noted that it is risky to leave drugs in the hands of criminals who have no idea about its health and safety concerns.
