Mahama ministers don't read - Bawumia

- NPP Vice-Presidential candidate of the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia hits hard at president Mahama’s appointees.

- According to the former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana, “the people handed the mandate to manage our destinies as a nation, do not read”.

- Dr. Bawumia has urged Ghanaians to reject the government’s claims that it has made massive investments in infrastructure across the country.

Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in his quest to set the records straight of Ghana’s economy and economic figures has described the members of the NDC government as people who “do not read.”

Bawumia has alleged that the Mahama-led administration has borrowed $37 billion, but can give evidence of $7billion worth of investment.

According to the former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana it is untrue that government have made massive investments in infrastructure across the country.

But Minister of Communication Dr Edward Omane Boamah, in response to the NPP man also described described as “false and misleading”, claims by Dr Bawumia.

However, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Dr Bawumia said: “What is clear to me (and confirms my long held suspicion) is that members of this government, handed the mandate to manage our destinies as a nation, do not read. Worse of all, as I said on 14th February, 2015, at a forum at the University for Development Studies, what is most unfortunate about this whole episode is the fact that the government doesn’t even seem to know how much it has borrowed.”
