- He announced his decision on Twitter; citing lack of support, contract violation, amongst others as his reason for quitting.
- The the Nigerian Football Federation confirmed the news in a statement.
The Former Nigeria star has quit his position as head coach for the Super Eagles.
Announcing his decision on Twitter, Oliseh cited the following reasons for his resignation: “lack of support, contract violation, unpaid wages for himself, coaching staff and benefits for his players”.

Meanwhile the General Secretary of the Nigerian Football Federation Dr. Mohammed Sanusi confirmed the resignation of Sunday Olisey to SuperSport:
“Yes, we have received a letter from him and I can tell you he has resigned as coach of the national team [Super Eagles].
“I can tell you the content of the letter yet because we haven’t met to deliberate on it. We are in Zurich for the Fifa congress but as soon as we are through with the meeting, you will be in the know.”
