Following the media revelation of how over 500 pupils in the Kperisi Primmary School in Wa engage in academic studies without desks, the vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has ordered furniture for all students.

During his visit to the Wa East Constituency on Friday, Dr Bawumia who went through the Basic 1, 2 and 3 classrooms, urged the pupils not to be daunted by the current conditions and to study hard to become great future leaders.
The stark reality of schools under trees at the Wa East Constituency falls in contrast with government's claims of the provision of teaching and learning infrastructure especially for students in the rural and peri-rural regions.
