Philip Addison escapes defeat in Klottey-Korley primaries

-Lawyer Philip Addison has won the  Klottey Korley re-run by 397 votes

- The controversial parliamentary re-run of Klottey Korley follows the first of August 2015 which was marred with election violence and irregularities

It turned out to be a successful election for Lawyer Philip Addison after he secured a comfortable win against his fierce contender, Nii Noi Nortey during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Klottey Korley re-run on Saturday, September 27.

Lawyer Philip Addison who had earlier predicted his victory won by a slim margin of 29 votes (exactly 397 votes) against his contender who polled 367 votes was seen at the headquarters of the main opposition party graced in white apparel exchanging pleasantries with several delegates on the voting ground.

So far, the primaries have been described free and fair as compared to the controversial August 2, 2015 election which had Nii Noi declared winner.

“I feel vindicated it has been one year now since we started the process…the media blitz has been predominantly negative. So today I feel vindicated by the results. It has been one year of wrangling, insults what have you…now today it is all over. Today is the time to start building bridges and friendships that bring the party together. That starts today,” Lawyer Addison revealed.

Lawyer Philip Addison surviving the parliamentary elections of November 7th, would see the opposition NPP increase their chances of becoming the majority in parliament come 2017.
